 8 PERFORMERS WHO GOT DISCOVERED ON YOUTUBE 

• Justin Bieber:
Bieber's mother posted videos of him singing covers of R&B songs on YouTube, which caught the attention of a talent manager who later signed him. 


• Alessia Cara 

Alessia gained recognition after posting covers of songs on YouTube at age 13, specifically a cover of The Neighbourhood's "Sweater Weather". The founder of EP Entertainment and Def Jam Recordings discovered her through her YouTube channel.




• Dua Lipa:
Dua is a UK artist. She was began of by covering song on YouTube when she was 14. In 2015 she was discovered & signed by Warner Music Group.




  • • Shawn Mendes:
    Mendes gained popularity by posting covers and original songs on YouTube, eventually leading to a record deal with Island Records


           


    Ed Sheeran:
    Feb 2010. Sheeran posted a video through SB.TV - A YouTube channel owned by Jamal Edward’s a rapper who later invited Ed to his tours, his popularity on the internet started of his journey.


    • Halle Bailey:
    Halle began of posting YouTube song covers with her sister Chloe. This eventually led to them going viral & signing to an official record label. 


    Halle has gained more recognition with her acting roles in the little mermaid and various other things. 




    • Dwen Gyimah:
    Dwen was making Sci-Fi themed videos on YouTube. This led onto him gaining meetings with British TV companies, then later on signing proffesionally onto an acting management shortly later.



    • Stormzy:
    Stormzy a London musician who recently announced his new production company ‘Merky Films’ blew to success with his YouTube freestyle for ‘Shut Up’. Stormzy continues his journey in the creative world both as an artist and a producer.

    Adele was discovered through MySpaceWhile attending the BRIT School for Performing Arts, she made a three-track demo for a class project. A friend then posted it on MySpace, where it gained significant popularity, with over 10,000 plays, and caught the attention of executives at XL Recordings
